This page is under construction, linked files may change.

MLCRA’s 2025 Annual Meeting was held on Wednesday, May 14th  from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm on Zoom. An excellent, detailed report of the meeting may be found in the April-June 2025 edition of the Patriot. Click/tap here to read this issue online.

Here we give very brief recap of the meeting with links to more detailed information.  At the bottom of this page there is a video of the first part of the meeting: welcome, honorees, and keynote speaker.

Welcome: Jean Stringham welcomed all the meeting participants, made introductions, and gave an overview of the meeting. She announced that she was stepping down as President, but would remain on the Board as Past President for one year, per our Bylaws.

Honorees: Our meeting started by honoring Senator Patricia Jehlen and Representative Thomas Stanley. Both the honorees have worked for many years advocating for Massachusetts seniors. After introductions by Dave VanArsedale, they both spoke for a few minutes on the new CCRC Commission. For more details, see the video at the bottom of this page and cited Patriot issue

Keynote Speaker: Our meeting's key feature was an engaging presentation by Robin Lipson, Secretary of the Executive Office of Aging and Independence.  Secretary Lipson is also a long term supporter of Massachusetts seniors and was the guest speaker at the 2019 meeting at Southgate.  She spoke about the change in focus on advocating for seniors indicated by the change in the title of her Office. A good summary of the talk is in the cited Patriot and is completely captured by the video below.

Video and Business Meeting: In the video below we hear a few words from our two honorees, followed by the presentation from Secretary Lipson. For the business meeting click/tap here for the agenda and slides of the meeting. A good summary of the business meeting in also in the cited Patriot issue. Finally, these changes were made to the board: Jean Stringham stepped down from the presidency but remains as Past President for a year. Two new members, Paul Blass and Christine Griffin, were elected to the Board. Click/tap here to see the new Board.
